Adani @ Rath Yatra

As the state of Odisha gears up for Rath Yatra – its most famous festival – starting end of June, the Adani Group will join hands with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) to distribute nearly six lakh meals among devotees who will throng the town. Around 50 lakh liquid refreshment would be served. To beat the oppressive heat, jackets with cool tech would be distributed among officers and personnel on duty. T-shirts would be distributed among volunteers and special fluorescent colour jackets would be given to security personnel. Trucks with sprinklers would be on the roads and water would be sprayed periodically so that the devotees have some respite from the scorching heat.

The festivities will be held between June 27 and July 7.

Earlier in January 2025, Adani Group’s Chairman Mr Gautam Adani embarked on a spiritual journey to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. At the Maha Kumbh – known as the largest gathering in the world -- he performed Ganga Puja and engaged himself in the act of Seva or service. His gesture was not only an act of devotions but also a reflection of his belief – seva is penance, seva is prayer, and seva is God.

In February, when Mr Gautam Adani’s youngest son Jeet Adani got married, the Adani Group Chairman took a pledge to give away Rs 10,000 crore. The amount, he said, would be dedicated to healthcare, education, and skill development. This pledge highlights Adani family’s unwavering dedication towards community development.

As part of this pledge, multispecialty hospitals, medical colleges, and research facilities would be set up to provide affordable, world-class healthcare to all. The Adani Foundation is setting up "temples of education" across India and these schools will offer world-class education, with special attention to meritorious children who are from economically weaker sections. The Group also plans to train more than 25,000 individuals every year in various skills to make them future ready.

While recalling his Maha Kumbh visit earlier in 2025, Mr Gautam Adani had expressed his gratitude for being able to serve lakhs of devotees at the religious gathering. The Adani Group had joined hands with ISKCON and served thousands of meals among devotees at the Maha Kumbh Mela. Volunteers from the Adani Group had also offered their services at the event.

“More than 5,000 members of the Adani family took the pledge to serve at the Maha Kumbh,” Mr Adani wrote in an article that was published in a Hindi daily. “I believe that service is the best way to realise God… We consider ourselves blessed because we could serve lakhs of devotees,” he said.
